Review Process
At VicharSetu, we follow a Double-Blind Review Process to ensure fairness, objectivity, and academic integrity. In this process, both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other to eliminate any potential bias and uphold the highest standards of scholarly assessment.
Step-by-Step Review Procedure:
Step 1: Acknowledgement & Initial Scrutiny
Once a manuscript is received via email, the author receives an acknowledgement mail. The manuscript is then assigned a unique manuscript ID (e.g., VSJ-0001) and is reviewed for basic compliance with submission guidelines, plagiarism policy (strictly below 20%), and formatting requirements.
Step 2: Anonymization of Manuscript
All author-identifying details are removed from the manuscript to ensure a completely anonymous review.
Step 3: Assignment to Reviewers
The anonymized manuscript is then sent to two independent reviewers, selected based on the subject matter. These reviewers are not part of our core editorial board to maintain impartiality.
Step 4: Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on the following parameters:
-
Originality and novelty of the research
-
Clarity and coherence of the argument
-
Methodology and structure
-
Relevance to contemporary issues
-
Compliance with citation and formatting standards
Step 5: Scoring System
Each reviewer independently assigns a score out of 5 points. Manuscripts receiving a combined score of 6 or above (out of 10) are considered for publication.
Step 6: Final Decision
Based on the scores and reviewers’ comments, the editorial team makes a final decision—Accept, Accept with Minor Revisions, Revise and Resubmit, or Reject.
Step 7: Communication to Author
The authors are notified of the outcome via email, along with any required revisions or feedback, if applicable.
